A Christmas Carol
Missouri Repertory Theatre (professional)

Room 116, Performing Arts Center, UMKC campus, 4949 Cherry

Roles for children, ages 8 to 18
Performance dates: November 25 – December 24. Eight to ten performances a week and several 10:30am matinees.

Please bring picture and resume. Be prepared to sing and to recite a short, memorized piece, about one minute long.

The play will rehearse afternoons and evenings Nov. 2-16 and preview with some afternoon rehearsals.

R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots) by Karel Capek
Gorilla Theatre Productions

Mondays and Tuesdays from 7pm to 10pm
Alanz Theatre, 624 E. 63rd St.

Performance dates: December 1-18
Roles available: 10 men and 3 women; 10 additional men and women needed to be the Robots.

Very tall and muscular people are encouraged to audition for Robot roles, of which a few are speaking.

Wednesday and Thursday from 7pm to 9pm

Performance dates: December 9-12
Parts available for teens and adults; a few small parts available for children ages 8 years and older.

King Lear and As You Like It
Heart of America Shakespeare Festival (professional)

Activities Center, Community Christian Church, 46th and Walnut

Directors: Bruce Levitt (Lear), Mark Robbins (As You Like It)
Performance dates: June 20 through July 16, 2000
Roles available: 8 Equity and 10 non-Equity actors. All roles open except those of King Lear and Lear’s Fool. Most company members will be in both productions.

Actors should prepare two contrasting pieces from Shakespeare, total length not to exceed four minutes.
